City Commissioner Gary Manning
Gary Manning was elected to the City of Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners in October 2004. His prior service to the City was as a member and, eventually, vice-chairman of the Goodlettsville Planning and Zoning Board.
Commissioner Manning serves as vice president and general manager of Goodlettsville Ace Hardware, a business he assisted his parents in opening in January 1978. The business has been honored as Business of the Year by the Goodlettsville Area Chamber of Commerce and was one of the charter members of the Chamber’s Business Hall of Fame.
He is a Nashville native and has lived in Goodlettsville since 1991. Prior to joining the family business, he graduated from Nashville’s John Overton High School. He also attended Tennessee Tech University, where he majored in electrical engineering.
Commissioner Manning and his wife, Suzanne, have one child, Reid, who is a student at Vanderbilt University.
