City Commissioner John Coombs
John Coombs was elected to the City of Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners in October 2006. Prior to his election, John served for over 20 years as a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, where he chaired the board for many of those years.
Commissioner Coombs moved to Goodlettsville in 1958, and graduated from Goodlettsville High School. He attended Tennessee Tech University, where he received a ROTC commission in the U.S. Army, and served in the military until 1969. Moving back to Goodlettsville, Coombs became involved in the Goodlettsville Dixie Youth Baseball program as a coach and supporter of the park program.
John is employed by Essilor of America as a consultant, where he has held various positions over the last 35 years. He is a member of the Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and serves as an active Elder and Sunday school teacher.
John and his wife Linda, have two children, daughter Kelly, who is married to Brad Woodis, and son Chris Coombs. John and Linda also have three grandchildren.
