Fire Chief Phillip Gibson

Phillip Gibson became Goodlettsville's Fire Chief in 1994. His career with the department began in 1982 as a volunteer fire fighter. In 1984, he became a full time employee of the City and was promoted to lieutenant in 1986. He was further promoted to captain in 1987 and assistant chief in 1990.

Phillip was born and raised in Ashland City, Tennessee and graduated from Cheatham County High School in 1977.

His professional affiliations include membership in the Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association, Tennessee Firemen Association, National Fire Protection Association, and International Society of Fire Instructors. Additionally, Phillip serves on the advisory committee for the Volunteer State Community College Fire Science Degree Program.

Phillip is an active member of Masonic Lodge 271 and the Al Menah Temple.

He and his wife, Candy, have two children, Robbie and Holly.
