Planning DepartmentThe Goodlettsville Department of Planning is responsible for planning activities in the city. All of the processes that must be followed to obtain a building permit or to initiate a new development originate here.
The mission for the planning function in city government is: to develop and implement a comprehensive planning program, and prepare and administer the land development regulations of the city. Encompassed within that mission statement are a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. These include:
- Review of subdivision plats, site plans and zoning proposals;
- Preparation of reports and analyses on various issues for the planning commission and the city commission;
- Preparation of ordinance amendments; and
- Coordination of plans and programs with other governmental entities and agencies.
